How to Cure Autoimmune Hepatitis?

After starting to adopt important lifestyle changes, such as receiving enough rest, eliminating stress through meditation, positive thinking, getting regular physical activity, eating a healthy and balanced Paleo diet, the most effective diet, as discussed under our Diet section and unless you have done your own research, it is not easy to find immediate help when trying to find an alternative holistic treatment.

Liver

Finding a different holistic approach, other than treatment suggestions offered by conventional doctors is not common as this type of autoimmune hepatitis disorder is rather new and its causes are still unknown.

The only treatment currently offered involves the use of  strong medications such as prednisone (a class of drug knows as corticoids), eventually for life. The use of prednisone is an immunosuppressive treatment and anti-inflammatory used to control auto immune hepatitis symptoms.  It is also used to treat conditions such as arthritis, blood disorders, breathing problems, severe allergies, skin diseases, cancer, eye problems, and immune system disorders.  Read more about its serious side effects at WedMd.com

We have to keep in mind that such medications, although initially a necessary evil, serve only as a patch.  They don't cure the real source.

A holistic healing approach,  is to heal the the immune system in order to stop attacking our healthy liver cells. The job of the immune system is to produce proteins, called antibodies, which recognize and prevent foreign viruses or bacteria from causing infection. Without our immune system working properly or in other words, a suppressed immune system, we can be exposed to any type of disease. It is ironic that treating our impaired liver is by means of using immune suppression to shut down the inappropriate immune response that is causing the problem.

My friend learned about Dr Berkson holistic approach through intensive online research, forums, medical sites and through a book called 'Curing Courtney'.

What is Alpha Lipoic Acid - ALA?

While dealing with a liver damage or failure, there are little chances that you will hear or be informed about intravenous ALA from a doctor or a hospital. Alpha Lipoic Acid benefits are numerous.  As far as liver damage treatment, Alpha Lipoic Acid is definitely a miracle solution to help regenerate liver cells with benefits against oxidative process, as well as an effective therapy for other illnesses such as neurodegenerative diseases, diabetes and more.

Dr Berkson, a well known MD, PhD and Naturopath, offers an exceptional autoimmune hepatitis treatment for the liver regeneration that combines conventional medicine with nutrition, vitamins, antioxidants, herbal supplements, while following healthy lifestyle practices. He has an extensive background with optimum results administering ALA intravenously, which is what he has used to stimulate liver regeneration.  ALA or Alpha Lipoic Acid is an antioxidant which helps neutralize the damage caused by free radicals and is vital to cellular energy production.

Treating Autoimmune Hepatitis requires an entire Protocol of strict holistic approach, healthy diet, intravenous ALA and the right supplements.  It is important to be treated by both, a conventional doctor specialized in liver damage such as a gastroenterologyst or hepatologyst and a naturopath with extensive knowledge with intravenous Alpha Lipoic Acid treatments.

Here an excerpt about 'Honest Medicine' author Julia Schopick, regarding Dr Berkson:

"Alpha lipoic acid, an antioxidant therapy that Dr. Berkson has been using successfully since the mid-1970s -- first to treat people with terminal liver disease; and then, in ensuing years, also to treat people with many other diseases and conditions, including diabetic neuropathy, several autoimmune diseases, and the very deadly pancreatic cancer -– the cancer that is considered to be one of the most hopeless.  Suffice it to say that Dr. Berkson has both an MD degree and a PhD –- the PhD degree came first. In addition, for 23 years he was the principal FDA investigator for the intravenous use of alpha lipoic acid. He is also the expert consultant to the Centers for Disease Control on alpha lipoic acid and liver poisoning. Dr. Berkson has published scientific papers in medical journals throughout Europe, and is an active scientific writer, researcher, and speaker."

For further information about Dr Berkson, type Google, Google Scholar or PubMed and search for Berkson BM.  Please note that I am not affiliated to him, but I know this helped cure my friend as it has many others.

Another option is to contact COEM, Occupational and Environmental Center in SC, managed by Dr Lieberman, a good friend of Dr Berkson, and his associate, Dr Weirz, and also experts in treating Autoimmune Hepatitis disorders.  If you further check online, you will find other options, less known to me, but surely aware of this beneficial treatment.

How to reduce liver toxins exposure and eliminate built-up toxins:

Remember, each individual is unique, biochemically and genetically.  Each of us will react differently, depending on what we eat, how we live our lives, how we act, react and in which environment.  This all affects our body.

Our body's job is to get rid of toxins and waste, avoiding toxic load to our liver! Know what you put inside your body.  You like being vain; that's the outside part.  Now be vain inside too, take care of your body.  Think about the benefits and consequences each time you take a bite or drink something once it enters your mouth.

Choose carefully what you drink or eat. Know where the food comes from, where it was grown, what was used to enhance the growth of food:  GMO, pesticides, non-organic, organic, pasture-fed, raw, fresh or standing long weeks on a shelf?

Main toxic contributors to our body:

-Diet

-lifestyle

-gut issues: parasites, bacteria, viruses, yeast

-stress: mental, emotional, physical, biochemical

-heavy metals

Chronic toxicity and waste within your body can cause numerous diseases, such as heart, fibromyalgia, cancer, parkinson, alzheimer, and many digestive disorders, under others.

Symptoms related to body toxicity are:

-fatigue

-headaches

-mental clarity and focusing issues

-bloating, gas, diarrhea or constipation

-heartburn

-joint pain

-skin related issues

-halitosis

-food cravings

-water retention

So, how do we detoxify?

-eat healthy, organic and clean foods

-exercise and sweat; keep moving and increase your body's circulation

-healthy supplements

-drink plenty of water throughout the day

-avoid or minimize drugs

-probiotics and prebiotics

-be thankful, positive and appreciate life

-laugh and smile enough
